Tech afficiandos may be decrying some of the technical shortcomings of Apple's new iPhone, but if estimates are anything to go by, Steve Job's Mob has clocked up revenues of close to $240-million in the first weekend of sales.

Analysts quoted in the Los Angeles Times say that about 525 000 iPhones were sold over the weekend following the device's launch on Friday. Bearing in mind that iPhone models range in price from $399 to $499, that's not a bad little earner for a weekend.
Half of the Apple stores on the US west coast were sold out of iPhones on the first day, according to the report.
