Dell is shedding its image of staid business computer-maker and this week launched a new range of brightly-coloured notebook computers into the US market. 

The modern new notebooks are the latest move in Dell's efforts to recapture the market leadership position it lost to HP.
Earlier this year, Michael Dell took back the reins of the computer maker and instituted a number of initiatives to help revive the company.
Among other things, Dell has begun shipping PCs with Linux pre-loaded; it's begun selling PCs through the retail channel; and now the new notebooks appeal to a broader consumer market than the company has traditionally targetted.
The notebooks are available in bright colours like pink, green, red and yellow.
