Ability Solutions has become a Microsoft Dynamics AX partner in a move that will see it strengthen its business applications service and support capabilities as it extends its reach into the enterprise market.
“Ability Solutions is not abandoning the Ability Suite in favour of Microsoft’s products, but is expanding our scope of operations and the range of services and software solutions we offer,” says Ability Solution’s commercial director, David Greenleaf.
“Our home-grown financial and distribution applications aimed at the mid-market will still be developed, enhanced and supported, while the intellectual capital we have built up over the years will now also be available to support Microsoft AX users.
“The new partnership will simply ensure companies that have come to rely on Ability Solutions are able to continue their relationship with us no matter how large they grow. As an organisation moves out of the mid-market and into the enterprise league, making the move to Microsoft Dynamics AX makes sense as the product is designed to meet the needs of both upper mid-market and enterprise organisations. And by supporting both products, Ability Solutions will be able to make the transition for our clients much simpler and painless than moving to a new application and a new IT partner would be.”
Microsoft Dynamics AX (formerly Microsoft Axapta) is a multi-language, multi-currency enterprise resource planning (ERP) solution. Its core strengths are in manufacturing and e-business, and it includes functionality for the wholesale and services industries.
“One of the strengths of Microsoft Dynamics AX is that it contains its own developer toolkit to allow independent software vendors (ISVs) such as Ability Solutions to customise it for specific vertical markets in which the ISV has expert knowledge,” says Tracey Newman, Business Group Executive at Microsoft Dynamics.
“Moreover, Microsoft Dynamics AX helps to increase the productivity and effectiveness of businesses with features that help to automate and streamline financial, customer relationship, business services, human resources management and supply chain processes.”
“Ability Solutions has gained years of experience in the distribution and financial software game and is therefore able to offer our customers more than software,” adds Greenleaf. “The company provides consulting, services and support to ensure customers can focus on what is important to their businesses and not on software problems.”
