Two US children were neglected to the point of starvation when their parents became obsessed with the Internet and video games.
The two children, aged 22 months and 11 months, were severely malnourished and near death when they were removed to hospital and later to foster care.
The parents have pleaded guilt to child neglect and face maximum 12-year sentences.
The prosecutor in the case says the adults were so busy playing online video games, especially "Dungeons & Dragons" that they failed to take care of their children.
Among other infections and signs of neglect, the younger child had to have her hair shaved because it was matted with cat urine.
There have been calls to have video game addiction classified as a mental disorder, but further studies are still underway.
