Acer South Africa has announced the availability of three new Windows Vista Premium certified displays in its X-Series range of LCD screens. The three new monitors are the 17-inch Acer X171A; the 19-inch widescreen Acer X192W; and the 22-inch widescreen Acer X222W.
Designed for media and data users who appreciate great style, all three monitors offer the ergonomic design, blazing fast response time, vibrant colour, bright images and vast range of connectivity options that customers have come to expect from Acer, who is the leading LCD monitor vendor in South Africa.
Says Bongani Gumbo, product manager for LCD monitors and projectors at Acer South Africa: "Acer's LCD displays are designed to offer super-sharp images and the highest levels of comfort, ergonomics and value for money for today's discerning user.
"This new range builds on Acer's history of bringing LCD screens to market that offer a mixture of performance and aesthetics for home and professional users who want to enjoy the best possible visual experience for their business and entertainment applications."
Both widescreen models – the X192W and the X222W – incorporate Acer's CrystalBrite technology to provide the richest colours and brightest images for movies, videos, photo slide shows and other content. Using an ultra-fine, highly polished coating that assists with minimising reflection from internal and external light sources, Acer's CrystalBrite screens achieve superior filtering while enabling quicker image building, at the same time, preventing diffusion of surrounding light and internal rays.
X-Series monitors also feature a specialised technology known as Acer eColor Management – an advanced monitor solution that adapts the performance of the panel to different environments. This allows for a personalised viewing experience.
All three LCD screens offer a lightening quick response time of 5ms to display crisp moving images as well as support for a range of digital and analogue signals. The X192W and X222W, the high-end models in the X-Series, feature a DVI input port to receive uncompressed high definition signals, supporting HDCP, an encoding standard for HD content.
The Acer X171A offers an 800:1 contrast ratio, while the X192W and the X222W both offer 1000:1 contrast ratios. The Acer X171A also offers a screen resolution of up to 1280×1024 at 75Hz, while the Acer X192W offers up to 1440×900 at 75Hz, and the Acer X222W goes up to 1680×1050 at 60Hz. The screens all include a 160-degree viewing angle and a three-year fetch, repair and return warranty.
The Acer X171A, X192W and X222W are available from a recommended retail price of R1 699.95, R2 199.95 and R3 299.95 respectively.
