Self-confessed Luddite Sir Elton John has called for the Internet to be shut down.

The Sun newspaper quotes the rock start as saying: "Hopefully the next movement in musiv will tear down the Internet."
He makes some compelling arguments against the Internet and PC technology in general, saying people no longer go out to be with one another and creating things.
Instead, he says, people stay in their own, in their homes and make their own music records – "which is sometimes OK but it doesn't bode well for long-term artistic vision".
Sir Elton made his entire body of work – more than 400 songs – available for download on iTunes earlier this year.
