The first hotel for space tourists will open for business as early as 2012 – but its $4-million price tag for a three-day stay is likely to limit the number of takers.
In addition, guests will be expected to take part in scientific experiments, according to Reuters.
Guests will be accommodated in seperate pods, each with its own rocket engine, and will have to move around the walls in Velcro suits.
There will be just three pod bedrooms joined together to form the boutique-style hotel.
The hotel, Galactic Suite, will orbit the earth every 80 minutes, treating guests to 15 setrises and sunsets a day.
Galactic Suite is headed up by former aerospace engineer Xavier Claramunt.
