HP last night hosted its annual Partner Awards evening at an event attended by more than 400 HP Preferred Partners.
The annual HP Partner Awards recognise and reward outstanding HP partner performance.
Key to the success of HP’s local channel is the HP Preferred Partner Programme, which was introduced two years ago to promote the value of key partners to end customers, while at the same time guaranteeing a strong return on partner investment.
Speaking at the event, HP South Africa CEO Thoko Mokgosi-Mwantembe pointed to the vital role that HP’s partners play in its continued growth. She pointed to HP’s latest financial results, which saw HP’s best revenue growth since 2000.
“Having achieved the milestone of becoming the first $100 billion IT company, we will continue to focus on our partners for profitable growth,” said Mokgosi-Mwantembe.
Earlier this week HP also announced the HP Business Institute, an enterprise and skills development programme focused on developing scarce and critical skills in high growth areas of the IT industry. Selected HP partners will participate in this programme, which will create employment opportunities and close the skills gap in the ICT sector.
In addition to recognising individuals for their outstanding performance, awards were presented in three main categories; namely the Specialist Category, Preferred Partner Category as well as the Distributor Category.
In the Specialist Category, the award for the partner demonstrating the highest consistent revenue of the last three halves went to Dimension Data. Digital Planet emerged as the winner in the Preferred Partner category, demonstrating the highest consistent revenue growth over the past three halves. Tarsus Technologies walked away with the Distributor of the Year award.
