Harvey Jones Systems will be the first company in South Africa to be certified on Microsoft’s PerformancePoint Server 2007 solution, due for release this month.

Solver, the company that develops the training material for PerformancePoint Server for Microsoft globally, will train Harvey Jones consultants and selected partners on the new corporate performance management solution in October this year. The launch for PerformancePoint will be October 12, 2007.
“We’ll be the first company in the country to offer certified skills, expertise and training to the South African market for PerformancePoint Server 2007,” says Keith Jones, MD of Harvey Jones Systems.
Harvey Jones has a regional relationship with Solver, which is also a Microsoft Gold Certified Partner with expertise in business intelligence, analytics and reporting. Solver will bring its value-added services and products that extend the flexibility of the platform to ensure it remains at the leading edge of its space.
“Solver has written an add-on, called BI Studio, which complements PerformancePoint’s existing functionality. In addition, we will use an accelerator, ProfitBase, to ensure rapid implementation,” says Jones.
ProfitBase 2007 is a rapid configuration data warehouse tool that significantly reduces time-to-value. It simplifies the integration of PerformancePoint Server into the operational data of the business.
Jones expects Microsoft’s new product will be well received in South Africa.
It is the first phase of integration following Microsoft’s ProClarity acquisition in May last year. “This release has been hugely anticipated because of the price sensitivity in the market and Microsoft’s traditional commoditisation of software,” says Jones.
“Corporate performance management is a key issue and the market is maturing. But it has, to date, been dominated by expensive, proprietary vendors and Microsoft is coming in at an unbeatable price, with all the functionality that customers need.”
Harvey Jones, established in 1997, has more than 10 years of experience in the market and has worked keenly alongside Microsoft for many of them. It was Microsoft Gold Partner of the Year Finalist 2004, Microsoft ISV of the Year Finalist 2004 and Microsoft Gold Partner of the Year Finalist 2003.
