Informatica South Africa and Cognos South Africa have sealed a partnership based on their international parents’ recently announced reseller agreement. The local agreement strengthens the bond between the two organisations who will work closely together to offer their joint solutions to the local market, with each focusing on their particular strengths. 

“Cognos’s decision to partner with Informatica as the best-of-breed vendor for data quality and data profiling validates Informatica’s technology,” says Paul van Aswegen, GM of Informatica South Africa. “Cognos also has a strong team with solid experience in performance management; while Informatica’s local operation has solid data quality skills.”
Cognos provide enterprise business intelligence, planning and consolidation software which equips companies with true data-driven decision-making capabilities. This helps companies better plan, understand and manage financial and operational performance. Informatica delivers data quality solutions as a key component of its data integration offering.

Informatica has 3 000 customers globally, while Cognos has 24 000. Cognos has seen significant penetration into the local market, while Informatica has become a recognised leader in the data integration space.

In terms of the local partnership, Informatica South Africa will work alongside Cognos to bring the solution to prospective customers as well as open it up to select local Cognos channel partners.
