Digifon, a mobile phone and wireless Internet modem manufacturer, its first wireless Internet USB modem designed specifically for the African market place.
The product product launch takes place at the premier Pan-African communications event, GSM > 3G AfricaCom, 21 to 22 November, at the Cape Town International Convention Centre.
The pre-paid system functions in any desktop or laptop computer with a standard USB port. There are no service contracts as users pay only for the Internet time they use.
Digifon CEO Lukman Akanbi says: “AfricaCom is an ideal venue to debut the initial product offering from Digifon. The day has finally arrived for African enterprise and consumers to access the Internet anywhere, anytime from basically any computer. With support and service on ground in Africa, Digifon backs all modems with a one-year manufacturer’s warranty. The Digifon modem will be available in mobile device outlets and other outlets such as computer retailers.
