YouTube has suspended the account of an Egyptian anti-torture activist who had posted clips of alleged torture by Egyptian policemen.
Wael Abbas, an international award-winning journalist, last year distributed a video of two Egyptian policemen torturing a bus driver. The two were convicted and sentenced to three-year prison sentences.
Apparently, some YouTube users have complained about the physical violence on the Abbas's latest clips, and the video sharing site has subsequently suspended his account.
Egyptian courts have ordered a number of journalists jailed on various charges and this year a blogger was also convicted and jailed.
