AMD is to delay the launch of two PC chips, initially due to debut in the next few weeks, until next quarter.

The Phenom 9700 and 9900 have both been put on ice for a few months.
The two processers will, when launched, have four cores.
According to an AMD statement on Friday, the company is concentrating instead on its three-core chips as well as its Phenom 9000e processors which consume less power.
