Amabubesi Capital Technologies (ACT) a member of the Amabubesi Group, one of South Africa’s top empowerment firms, has purchased ICT (Information and Communications Technology) company, GoldenRule as part of its strategy to diversify its operations.
Amabubesi Group, has set aside several million rand to pursue various opportunities in the ICT sector that will be held by Amabubesi Capital Technologies. GoldenRule’s Angus Young has been appointed as CEO of Amabubesi Capital Technologies and the newly formed division will operate from Amabubesi Group’s current office space in Houghton.
Young maintains that GoldenRule’s strong service offerings within IT resourcing, (specifically in terms of high end technical skills) Network Infrastructure and it’s Microsoft Centre of Excellence, make it an attractive prospect for Amabubesi. As the resource partner of choice to IT and IT enabled companies, GoldenRule is well positioned for both organic and acquisition growth.
The Microsoft Centre of Excellence which has attained status as a Microsoft Gold Partner and specialises in delivering solutions within the Information Worker, Mobility, and Custom Development will be spun out into a separate brand as will the Network infrastructure business.
"Amabubesi Capital Technologies motivation behind the purchase of GoldenRule was to gain access to the South African technology market and to build a diversified IT division addressing the IT, telecoms and electronic media sectors," says Young.
He believes that as bandwidth becomes more available in South Africa, the convergence of technology will see the unleashing of a number of new services and offerings.
"The South African entrepreneurial spirit is a key factor in building this new arm of Amabubesi. We believe in the spirit of ‘ilima’, a community ractice where people, relatives and friends rally around a family to lend support in building a house, ploughing or harvesting. With entrepreneurship and active participation forming the foundation of ACT’s philosophy, it is ogical that our investment in brands and leadership will ensure we compete well in current and future markets.
"In line with this approach, Amabubesi Capital Technologies aims to initiate a new age of business, with a strong focus on specialised services, through the creation of separate entities for every brand it offers, each with its own management team with a stake in that part of the business."
Sango Ntsaluba, CEO of Amabubesi, says: "Although Amabubesi has long been invested in ICT we are excited about the formation of this new division (Amabubesi Capital Technologies). It reflects our commitment to this sector and we have every confidence that it will be a great success. The acquisition means we will have access to GoldenRule’s well entrenched relationships and expertise within this sector."
