Distributor Drive Control Corporation (DCC) has recently introduced APC’s new NetShelter CX Office Enclosure or server rack for businesses. This product is different from traditional racks or enclosures as it “blends” in discretely in an office environment, thanks to its wood finish and reduced noise pollution, creating the perfect solution for businesses that value their corporate appearance.
This composite wood structure is lined with acoustic foam which not only cushions the hardware, but also keeps noise from escaping the unit. The APC NetShelter CX features vertical cable trays in the front, middle and rear, as well as front loops for cables storage.
This allows users to neatly stow all the cables away where they are still easily accessible. To add to the ease of use and minimisation of excess cables, each unit includes a Zero U power distribution unit. All of this allows users to place the unit inside any office environment without concern for noise or unsightly cables.
“Designed for branch offices, small offices and any non-IT space where there isn’t the room, the time or the budget to build a dedicated IT zone – the NetShelter CX is an ultra-portable, secure, economic, plug-and-play IT solution,” says Robert Brandt, APC product specialist at DCC.
“You simply roll it in to the open office, put your equipment inside, plug it in and close the doors. With the NetShelter CX soundproofed ‘Server Room in a Box’ you can get back to focusing on your core business quickly.”
The APC NetShelter CX offers users a choice of one to three 3,6 kilowatt thermal capacity fan modules, to suit user specific needs. Add to that wheels for easy manoeuvring, the unit can be used to:
* Reduce capital costs by avoiding construction;
* Avoid wasting space – use the space for something else;
* Keep business agile – use a portable IT infrastructure;
* Standardise on one solution for branch offices and remote sites;
* Silence noisy equipment inside a quiet enclosure; and
* Keep server and network infrastructure from overheating.
APC have also enhanced the NetShelter CX family with a new solution designed for housing tower servers in small and home offices and other non-dedicated IT spaces – The Netshelter CX Mini. According to Brandt this unit is ideal for use in an environment where there is very little space, as it fits into the space under a desk.
