Restructuring at HP SA continues, with a new-look Enterprise Group taking shape. Meanwhile, there is not yet any clarity on how the global retrenchments will affect the local operation.

On 21 March, HP announced an organisational realignment to improve performance and drive profitable growth across the entire HP portfolio.

“As part of this, the Global Accounts Sales organisation joined the newly named HP Enterprise Group led by David Donatelli,” according to an official statement from HP SA. “This new structure is designed to speed decision making, increase productivity and improve efficiency, while providing a simplified customer experience.

“We can confirm that Frank van Rees has been appointed as the Enterprise Group Lead for South Africa.”

Regarding the worldwide retrenchments announced last month by CEO and chairman Meg Whitman, no details are available for the South African operation at this stage.

“The improvements to HP’s cost structure will be across the board, touching just about every business and region,” according to the statement. “The changes to HP’s workforce will vary by country, based on local legal requirements and consultations with employee works councils and other employee representatives, as appropriate.”
