Lindiwe Sisulu, formerly Minister of Defence, has been appointed as the new Minister of Public Services & Administration following the recent death of Radakrishna “Roy” Padayachie.

The move is part of a cabinet reshuffle announced yesterday by President Jacob Zuma.

Sisulu’s position as Minister of Defence has been filled by Nosiviwe Maphisa-Nqakula; Ben Martins has been appointed Minister of Transport with Sibusiso Ndebele moving to Minister of Correctional Services.

A number of deputy ministers were also appointed: Sindisiwe Chikunga to Transport; Gratitude Magwanishe to Public Enterprises, Jeremy Cronin to Public Works, Hlengiwe Mkhize to Economic Development, and Mduduzi Manana to Higher Education.
