Kaspersky Lab, a leading developer of secure content and threat management solutions, has announced the expansion of its partnership with Ferrari. The companies are working together to identify synergies in information technology and upgrade their level of collaboration.

“Ferrari has teamed up with Kaspersky in a technical collaboration to verify the capabilities of their antivirus software,” says Vittorio Boero, Ferrari’s CIO.
“The aim is to complete a comprehensive evaluation by Q4/2012. The application aims to cover the management both for Industrial GT and Gestione Sportiva for a future potential deployment.”
The project will involve several stages: the first step is a technical discussion committee consisting of Kaspersky Lab IT specialists and analysts, and senior IT managers and engineers from Scuderia Ferrari.
By combining the IT expertise from Kaspersky Lab’s research and development (R&D) team with that of the Ferrari’s IT department, this collaboration is intended to improve the methodological and technical sides of both companies’ IT infrastructure and services.
The second step, which will run from the end of 2012 into 2013, will focus on an analysis of the complex Ferrari IT landscape and an evaluation of Kaspersky Lab’s corporate product portfolio in order to formulate a plan for customisation and implementation.
Kaspersky Lab entered the world of motor racing in May 2010, sponsoring the AF Corse team and its Ferrari GT cars in the Le Mans Series, and assuming the position of “official supplier” to Scuderia Ferrari. Half a year later, Kaspersky Lab became an “official sponsor” of the team, with Kaspersky Lab’s logo appearing on Ferrari’s Formula One cars.
The companies have also released a co-branded product: Kaspersky Internet Security Special Ferrari Edition. This security solution comes with a Ferrari-style user interface and the Ferrari Virtual Academy video simulator game to align Kaspersky Lab’s best-of-breed anti-malware technologies with the world-famous image of Scuderia Ferrari.
The high-profile Kaspersky Lab logo, featured on the nose cone and on nose sides, will be seen at all Formula One races in the 2012 and 2013 seasons. This is part of the new expanded sponsorship agreement between Scuderia Ferrari racing team and Kaspersky Lab that was unveiled at the final Formula One Grand Prix of the 2011 season in São Paulo.
