First Distribution has announced that the company has signed an agreement with Xsigo Systems, to distribute the full range of Xsigo offerings.
Xsigo Systems is an information technology company that provides data centre fabric solutions to companies and enterprises. It was listed on the Wall Street Journal’s Next Big Thing list for 2011, and has garnered numerous awards and industry mentions.
Xsigo simplifies data centre management by letting users dynamically connect any server to any network or storage facility, reducing complexity by eliminating 70% of cards, cables and switch ports. Users can get up to 80Gbps bandwidth to each server for increased application performance, at approximately half the cost of traditional infrastructure.
“As a leading distributor of virtualisation and data centre solutions, First Distribution sees Xsigo as a perfect fit to complement our server, storage and virtualisation offerings. As companies look to reduce complexity and cost, Xsigo assists by simplifying these aspects of the data centre,” says Tony Abrahall, GM at First Distribution.
“Xsigo is very pleased to add First Distribution as a strategic distribution partner, offering Xsigo’s full range of products and solutions along with invaluable technical guidance and domain expertise,” says Michelle Humphreys, senior director, Strategic Global Alliances at Xsigo.
“Together we will enable First Distribution’s business partners and customers to leverage Xsigo’s data centre fabric technology to design and build next-generation virtualised infrastructure and agile solutions for the private cloud.”
First Distribution is also in the process of having its sales and technical staff up-skilled and certified on the various Xsigo offerings, in order to maintain a high level of service quality throughout the channel.
