Allied Electronics (Altron) has set up a whistle-blowing hotline for staff, suppliers or other stakeholders to report any unethical behaviour at the company.

The company has issued a statement, saying it recognises that unethical behaviour in the workplace, which often goes undetected and unreported, presents an ever-increasing problem which may result in substantial financial losses to the organisation.

“The company is committed to the principles of honesty, integrity and accountability in all its dealings, which ultimately protects the name and reputation of Altron,” it states.

In collaboration with Deloitte Tip-offs Anonymous, Altron has established a confidential fraud and ethics whistle-blowing hotline for all its stakeholders to report any unethical behaviour anonymously.

“Accordingly, Altron wishes to extend this service to all its stakeholders and encourages them to make use of this facility as and when necessary,” it states.

The company has allocated a FreeCall telephone number – 0800 20 53 52 – which operates 24 hours a day. Operators will respond to calls in all the official languages. Callers may remain anonymous, and information will any analysed and reports to delegated senior officials who will confidentially investigate the matter.
