Bytes People Solutions boosts revenue

Focusing on a core strategy to improve profitable revenue growth is paying off for Bytes People Solutions, a division of Bytes Technology Group, wholly owned by JSE-listed Altron.
The company performed above expectations during the past financial year with revenue and EBITDA increasing at 15% and 20% respectively.
“This was a good start and proved to us that our drive to implement a culture of high performance which incorporates service excellence coupled with a dynamic and flexible offering to our customers is the right strategy for our company,” says MD, Dr Madelise Grobler.
“The two key awards that we received during the year, namely, the Best Sun Trainer for Oracle SA Award and the Best Overall Partner for Oracle in South Africa Award and the fact that Bytes People Solutions has become a reliable supplier of ‘learnerships’ to corporate South Africa is further testimony that our focus on high performance is working.”
Dr Grobler believes that the success of Bytes People Solutions in skills development and training is based on its approach to provide customers with a technology road map based on a thorough business analysis which is then supported by specific training interventions.
She and her team chose a few key areas on which they concentrated to improve profitable revenue growth such as the installation of Sales Tracker a sales tracking system to afford them realtime visibility of sales activity.
“We also relooked all processes within the business. Together, these new initiatives have increased the company sales exponentially over a very short period of time.”
She says the company has also introduced a number of innovative offerings to further improve revenue streams.
“The launch of our ‘classroom in a box’ is, for instance, a cost and effort savings solution consisting of computers, cables and data projector that are used to provide the training at the customer’s premises. This offering is proving to be a great success because it is aimed at easing the input required from the client,” she says.
She says that the challenge lies in continually improving and extending service offerings. In this regard the hi-tech, realtime training facility with live teacher instruction installed at Bytes People Solutions headquarters in Midrand as well as in the Western Cape and KwaZulu Natal is aimed at addressing the high expenditure of companies on training, particularly in terms of travel and accommodation costs.
It also provide our regional customers access to offering previously only available in Gauteng.
“This state-of-the-art technology enables seamless integration between the whiteboard and video-conferencing endpoints and increases learner participation and interaction.
“We are excited about the year ahead and the implementation of our extensive strategy for growth.
“We are now looking at partnering with service providers to take the ‘classroom in a box’ offering into Africa; searching for acquisitions to complement our existing offerings; and focusing on extending the content development division and hosting of content through online leading portals which will provide an even stronger foundation from which to grow,” she concludes.
