LG Electronics (LG) announced that the Optimus G smartphone will be available for sale exclusively through their brand store at the LG Lifestyle Centre, Willowbridge Shopping Centre, Cape Town.
The Optimus G is available currently in Cape Town and retails at R 6 999.00.
Optimus G, LG’s masterpiece smartphone is packed with a Quad Core processor, 13-megapixel shooter, 2Gb of RAM, Vivid 4,7-inch Zerogap Touch with True HD IPS Plus Display and effective 4G LTE connectivity.
The global consumer Electronics Company stated that the decision to offer a sales channel through the brand store rather than through the traditional mass public channels was to ensure that the consumers get access to the device as quickly as possible.
Michael Bruchhausen, LG national sales director, says, “The demand has been set and we had to make means to get the Optimus G to the consumers.
“As a leap from that, we are excited that in September of 2013, we will be bringing the Optimus G Pro, the G’s successor, to South Africa. This smartphone will be available for sale to the public through mass channels and details on the launch date and prices will be confirmed closer to the time.”
The Optimus G Pro, LG’s first full HD display smartphone features will include Smart Video, Dual Camera, Pause and Resume Recording and Magic Remote Pad to work specifically with LG Smart TVs.
Similar to the touch pads of most notebooks, Magic Remote Pad turns the Optimus G Pro into a remote control for LG Smart TVs.
Text Keypad, another new addition to QRemote, will make typing on a smart TV easier than ever before by turning the Optimus G Pro into a convenient input device.
