IT services company, System 5 has selected CA ARCserve as the technology of choice for its backup and disaster recovery offering. System 5 boasts extensive experience in the delivery of managed backup solutions.
The company identified CA ARCserve after an exhaustive testing process. After some six months, System 5 reports immensely positive feedback on the product from existing and new clients.

“Our backup and disaster recovery offering is very much a managed one and is highly customised to meet the client’s infrastructure requirements,” says Justin Liron, sales and marketing manager at System 5.

“Technically, we have found the CA ARCserve product outstanding. Moreover, it offers such a wide range of commercial models based on variables including: data size; infrastructure; licensing and more.”

Andy Podrenek, account manager at CA Southern Africa, says that ARCserve’s flexibility offers the channel real opportunities to enter the managed service provider space.

“Taking a managed service provider approach opens up new revenue opportunities – something that System 5 has long understood,” he says. “Backup is often a headache for company IT departments, especially within the small and medium-sized enterprise sector, hence the interest in a managed service like the one offered by System 5.”

System 5’s Liron notes that many clients are finding the option to receive the backups as a monthly service – and as such as an operating cost rather than a capital expense – an extremely attractive business benefit.

“ARCserve’s flexibility allows us to offer the service to clients either as a monthly service or to buy the software outright, depending on what suits them, but we are definitely seeing a trend towards the monthly service model,” concludes Liron.
