Facebook has changed its “Like” button, dropping the thumbs-up sign in favour of a blue block with the Facebook “f” logo and the word “Like”.

The “Share” button has also been changed to the same format.

According to Ray He, writing on the site’s developer blog, the Like button was introduced in 2010, and is now viewed on 7,5-million Web sites, viewed more thatn 22-billion times per day.

The new buttons will be rolled out over the coming weeks. Sites using the old buttons will be automatically upgraded to the new design.

Sites can use either the Like or Share buttons on their own or carry a side-by-side Like and Share design.
