Quinton Pienaar reports from Dreamforce, San Francisco – Mobility is clearly a focus. Salesforce.com has announced new mobile applications providing a unified mobile experience.

Acknowledging the power of this platform, users and their unique approach to mobile collaboration need to be accommodated.

If the apps are not easy to use and easily accessible the predicted growth of this sector will not reach its intended potential.

Improved functionality includes deeper CRM data for sales, service and marketing; customisations; and an AppExchange – enabling users to tap into thousands of apps.

A new administrator app has also been announced and will provide administrators with the ability to manage freeze and unlock users from anywhere; reset passwords and access release notes. This brings a much-needed level of control and security to the mobile platform.

Both applications are also available on Android and iOS.
