Nashua and First Technologies shared the top award in the Managed Print Services (MPS) category at this year’s HP Partner Awards held at Urban Tree in Sandton.

The HP Partner Awards are held once a year in recognition of outstanding performance in HPs channel partner community which is comprised of distributors, retailers and channel partners. The partners that have had
the biggest impact in HP’s business and who are able to meet and exceed the targets set for them by HP take home top honours.

Eleven partners were judged in the Managed Print Services category based on their growth, compliance, certification, and consistency and regularity of reporting back to HP during the period from 1st Nov 2012 to 31st
Oct 2013. Based on these criteria, Nashua and First Technologies were jointly awarded for their impressive performance in the MPS environment.

“Historically, Nashua and HP have always been competitors in the office automation space,” said Ford Spies, HP divisional manager at Nashua. “However, in 2009 Nashua and HP partnered because Nashua
needed a good printer base to enhance its offering to clients and HP needed a wider service footprint throughout southern Africa.”

Since partnering with HP, Nashua has performed exceptionally in terms of sales of not only HP’s retail products, but more importantly, HP’s high-end multifunction printers, which has contributed to the Managed Print
Services programme of HP’s Printing and Personal Systems division becoming one of the company’s fastest growing programmes.

“This award win is important for Nashua because not only does it illustrate the massive turnaround that has taken place in terms of the relationship between Nashua and HP, but it also enforces the message in the
marketplace that Nashua is an HP vendor and that if customers are in the market for an HP printer, they can call us,” says Spies.
