Océ South Africa, a leader in digital document management and delivery, has launched the Océ Premium Pigment Ink range, for use with the Océ ColorStream 3000 series continuous feed inkjet printers. The new inks have been designed for commercial print and direct mail applications, and give vibrant, vivid colours with excellent richness and contrast.

According to Océ, the Premium Pigment Inks are fast immobilising, meaning that more ink is kept on the surface of media (paper), and optical density – which refers to the darkness of images – is enhanced. It also says the new ink enhances colour images by extending shadow detail and increasing contrast levels.

Faster ink immobilisation also extends the range of the media the ink can be used to print upon, so that print quality and density when printing on standard uncoated papers is comparable to that when printing on media treated with primer, or inkjet treated paper stocks.

Digital document solutions (DDS) product and marketing manager at Océ South Africa, Hennie Kruger, also notes that the new ink expands the colour gamut (range of colours that can be produced and printed).

“The new Premium Pigment Ink for the Océ ColorStream 3000 series increases overall colour gamut and gives print providers much more flexibility on media. It allows for high density colours even on uncoated media and increases the colour density across a broad spectrum of papers.”
