South African solutions and systems integration company, StorTech, has been appointed as a Premier Partner of global cloud and virtualisation specialists VMware.

The announcement comes as a result of extensive investment made by StorTech in up-skilling its internal teams, expanding its VMware skills base as well as growing its sales and technical capacity around the VMware technologies and solution sets.

“VMware forms a core part of many of our customer’s future technology strategies which is why it is critical for us at StorTech to ensure we have the right number, level and quality of skills on board to support them,” states Steven Hayward, CEO at StorTech.

“Our appointment as a Premier Partner will enable us to extend, what we see as an already superior service around the VMware solution stack to our customers.

“The status will also provide us access to a host of global and local resources that will assist us in taking the future business potential of the Software-defined data centre (SDDC) to our customers,” states Hayward.

StorTech has been a partner of VMware since 2007 and until the announcement of the company being awarded the status as a Premier Partner, it serviced its customers in the capacity of an Enterprise Level Partner. Today the company boasts 18 VMware sales professionals (VSPs), 7 VMware Technical Sales Professionals (VTSPs) and 8 VMware Certified Professionals (VCPs).

“With its focus on driving its customers towards the cloud, as well as its commitment to ensuring they have the technologies in place to support this push, StorTech continues to play an important role in the South African partner landscape,” says Richard Kerr, director, Northern EMEA, Partners and General Business at VMware.

“It is with this that we are delighted that the company has made the investments it has into developing its skills around the VMware solutions, as it not only highlights StorTech’s commitment to our brand, but also its understanding of the role of our technologies in the future of IT.

“Its appointment as a VMware Premier Partner will assist the company in accelerating its ability to deliver on VMware technologies to customers,” ends Kerr.
