Alcatel-Lucent and Libya’s LITC are to deploy a new 1 000km undersea cable system linking Tripoli to Benghazi. The new cable system will contribute to the reconstruction of the Libyan telecom infrastructure and will provide further reliability to domestic and international communications

Alcatel-Lucent has signed a turnkey contract with the Libyan International Telecommunication Company (LITC) to build a new 1 000km undersea cable system linking the country’s capital, Tripoli, to Benghazi, and providing the broadband connectivity needed in support of on-going efforts to revive the Libyan economy.
