Bytes Document Solutions (BDS), Africa’s leading document management technology and solutions company and the largest Xerox distributor in the world, has appointed Ewald van Rensburg as production accounts manager, production systems group (PSG), for Xerox’s direct sales division.
Van Rensburg is now responsible for all PSG direct sales, and for account management in the Pretoria region. He has been with BDS for 12 years and brings extensive product knowledge and experience to the position. He also has the advantage of having developed longstanding relationships with customers and fellow employees.
“I want to help our customers do great work with the best solutions possible,” says Van Rensburg. “That is achieved by delighting the customers in every way possible, earning their loyalty as a result. I’m committed to helping them optimise their operations and get more jobs through their shops, and enabling them to save money through cost controls and maximized profitability. By helping them to grow their business, we grow ours too.”
Charl Vogel, national sales manager, production systems group (PSG) for Xerox’s direct sales organisation, says the company’s aim is to ensure that staff are able to engage and interact knowledgeably with all its customers. “Ewald brings a wealth of product and industry know-how to the sales process,” he says. “His appointment allows our customers and prospects to engage with us on an entirely different level right from the start.
“This will enhance the value add that we offer in the graphics, advertising, signage, finishing, promotional products and packaging market segment. We want to help customers be more productive and grow their business. Now they have access to an expert who can assist them in integrating the business tools we have on offer so that they can achieve better productivity.”
Van Rensburg joined BDS in 2002 as an analyst, moving into colour analysis in 2006. He worked his way up and was appointed a smart production press consultant in 2010. A year later, he was promoted to production colour analyst manager.
Prior to joining BDS, he worked at Persetel Client Computing from 1996 to 1999 as a Network Administrator. He left for the UK and was employed by Wyeth Pharmaceuticals until 2001, returning to South Africa to complete a project at one of the company’s local branches.
