IT salaries have increased by about 20% over the last year.
This is one of the findings revealed by CareerJunction’s recent Salary Review, compiled its online labour market indicator, the CareerJunction Index (CJI).
According to the Index, IT managerial staff have enjoyed a 20% increase in salary offerings since the end of 2013.
According to the CJI, this is most likely as a result of a steady and considerable increase in labour demand within the IT industry during 2014.
Other interesting findings from the Salary Review include a drop in salary offerings for most skilled level workers in the manufacturing and assembly sector of between 6% and 8%, as well as a drop in salary offerings for skilled level accountants (except cost accountants) of between 2% and 6%.
The Salary Review examines salary data on www.careerjunction.co.za for the latest measurable period for the top 10 most sought after sectors and includes a regional scale for salary differences across Gauteng, the Western Cape and KwaZulu-Natal.
