Twitter has introduced new features which will allow friends and family to stay in touch this Easter.

For those who are not able to be with their families to share, connect and celebrate, there is now a central place where you can meet, no matter where any of you were in the world.

Group Messaging will allow for you and your friends or family, of up to 20 people, to share Tweets, pictures, links and emoji’s during this festive season. The Direct Messages feature has now been updated so you can start a private conversation with more than one person, and they don’t all need to follow one another in order to chat.

So you can create one group that includes your aunties, uncles, cousins and friends to share special moments together on Twitter.

How to start a group message:

* To share a Tweet – go to the Tweet and click “Share via Direct Message”; multiple names can be entered into the recipient box.

* To start a group Direct Message – click on the Messages tab and enter multiple names into the recipients box.

Twitter’s new, live-streaming, video app allows you to watch and broadcast live video from all across the globe, on your mobile. You can now share videos from anywhere at any time no matter where you are.

Periscope lets you share an experience with others. Press a button and your friends and family will be notified instantly that you’re live – as long as they are following you. Whether you’re witnessing your nephew’s first Easter-egg hunt or your friends kid’s first birthday, Periscope offers the power of a shared experience.

Most mobile broadcasting tools feel far from live, however broadcasters on Periscope are directly connected to their audience, being able to feel their presence and interact. Going live on Periscope means more than a blinking red dot.

Periscope gives you a new set of eyes and ears. Travel the world and step into someone else’s shoes. See what they see, hear what they hear, and hopefully feel what they feel. Watching a broadcast isn’t a passive experience like television. On Periscope, viewers influence the broadcaster by sending messages, and expressing their love by tapping the screen to send hearts.
