Marval Africa has partnered with M2TD Consulting to bring Marval’s global leading IT service management (ITSM) tool, MSM, to the South African public and mining sectors. As a result of this partnership, M2TD has exclusive rights to resell Marval’s ITSM solutions within these sectors.
M2TD is a Level 1 Broad-Based Black Economic Empowerment (B-BBEE) company that is 100% black-owned and -managed with 100% majority shareholding of black women, based in Centurion, Gauteng. The company, a provider of ICT and Managed Services with extensive experience within the public sector, has developed a reputation as a trusted advisor, particularly within local government and municipalities. Marval Africa will be providing full training, skills transfer, on-going support and mentorship to enable M2TD to become a fully-fledged Marval partner.

“Marval Africa is the local representative of the global Marval brand in Africa, the Middle East and South East Asia. In order to ensure full coverage for this large region, we have taken the strategic decision to appoint resellers in key areas where we believe there is opportunity for growth. Our MSM tool has capabilities not only within the IT space, but across other areas within organisations, and we believe that we can assist governments to achieve their service delivery improvement objectives. M2TD share our ambition and passion for service delivery and have the experience within the public sector we require, making them the ideal partner,” says Edward Carbutt, Executive Director of Marval Africa.

In addition to being a reseller of Marval, M2TD is also a customer, having implemented the MSM solution internally as part of their journey toward ISO 20000 certification and continual service improvement. This gives M2TD insight into the applications of the tool and of ITSM, which will enable them to deliver more insightful solutions to customers.

“We originally met with the team at Marval Africa as a result of our own efforts to enhance our internal performance through SM. Once we understood the advantages of SM not only for ourselves but for our clients, we realised that a reseller partnership would be highly beneficial. For our clients to be relevant and compete globally, it is vital for them to standardise processes and procedures. ITSM is a critical tool in helping them achieve this. Marval Africa can play a pivotal role, especially within local government and municipalities where a common issue is a lack of available processes to assist the organisations in servicing their citizens,” explains David Matshane, CEO and founder of M2TD Consulting.

“With our background in hardware and software solutions as well as insights gained from our own ITSM initiative, we are well positioned to deliver complete solutions to our customers within the public sector. We aim to be a fully-fledged managed services company by the end of 2016. Partnering with Marval Africa has enabled us to turn our own company into a showcase to highlight the importance of SM in improving service delivery,” Matshane adds.

Working together, Marval Africa and M2TD aim to assist government departments with a SM platform that underpins continuous improvement, enhancing their operations and ultimately empowering them in the long-term to improve service delivery to all citizens.

“For Marval, this partnership will enable us to access new markets and develop our reseller base in accordance with our growth strategy. It is also an important part of our dedication towards assisting in creating sustainable transformation in South Africa. Partnering with M2TD forms part of Marval’s Enterprise Supplier Development (ESD) commitments in line with the new B-BBEE codes of practice, and we look forward to working with them to the benefit of the South African economy,” Carbutt concludes.
