Microsoft has announced a Phone Companion app built into Windows 10 that will let users connect their Windows PC to any devices that they use – regardless of whether it’s Windows, iOS or Android.

All files and content will be available on the user’s PC and phone.

With the OneDrive app setup correctly on the phone, every photo taken on the phone will show up automatically in the Photos app on the Windows 10 PC.

With the latest upcoming version of the Music app, users will be able to store and access your music from OneDrive not only on their PC but now also play it anywhere, for free, on their iOS or Android phone (this already works on Windows phones).

In addition, notes written on the PC in OneNote will show up on the phone; and any note tweaked on the phone will get synced to the PC.

Users will be able to work on Office documents from any of device, without worrying about moving files around.

In addition, when users upgrade their PCs to Windows 10, the experience will include Cortana, the digital assistant that can search the Web or the device, set reminders, dictate email, or toggle device settings. Cortana is also integrated into the new Web browser for Windows 10 – Microsoft Edge.

In addition, a new Cortana application for Android phones and for iPhones will work as a companion to Cortana on the Windows 10 PC. The ‘Phone Companion’ app on the PC will help users to install the Cortana app from the Google Play or Apple App Store.
