It’s business as usual for Altech Autopage – so says Boyd Chislett, MD of Altech Autopage. “While Altron, our holding company, announced on 12 May 2015 that it was at an advanced stage of negotiations for the potential disposal of our GSM subscriber bases, our operations and customer services will continue uninterrupted,” he says.

“It is important to note that while we are in discussions to sell our GSM bases, upgrading of existing customer contracts or taking out of new contracts will continue should the proposed sale go ahead. Customer contracts will simply be transferred and the existing contractual arrangements with our customers at that point in time, will be maintained on the same terms. This means that our customers will not lose any of the benefits of their contracts with Altech Autopage. Pricing, services and deals on handsets when upgraded also remain unchanged,” he adds.

Altech Autopage has a significant retail presence countrywide and these will continue to operate as per normal, providing customers with assistance on new contracts across all networks, upgrading of customer handsets on existing contracts, and any product or service-related query. The same applies to Altech Autopage’s customer services.

“Our Customer Services and Call Centre Teams continue to assist our customers and channels with enquiries or service related matters on a daily basis. If anything, we are striving even harder to improve these services contrary to what some may expect post our announcement. We still remain the only partner whereby one can interact with all three networks under one roof, for all one’s cellular needs.

“My primary message to our customers is to have faith in us during this period. We have built up a long and successful history of service provision in the industry and will continue to do so during this period,” he concludes.
