Local cloud platform and cloud products distributor, Tarsus Cloud On Demand, has been appointed as the local distributor of Arcserve’s data protection and recovery solutions in South Africa.
Founded in 1990, Arcserve provides a solution for virtual and physical environments, on premise or in the cloud, backed by a global network of partners, support and expertise. Through the agreement Tarsus Cloud On Demand partners will now be able to extend their services to include the full range of Arcserve solutions for their end user customers.

“The traditional models of delivering IT have changed significantly and as a result vendors are looking for distributors that are aligned with the new style of delivering IT,” says Jonathan Kropf, CEO at Tarsus Cloud On Demand. “We believe that the Cloud On Demand approach to business directly meets these needs, and we are delighted to add the Arcserve portfolio of offerings to our growing cloud-centric vendor range of solutions.”

According to Kropf, the company’s appointment will go a long way to help to make the Arcserve product flourish, as it aims to develop new channels and partnerships on the ground through which to support the products. He adds that the Arcserve Unified Data Protection (UDP) is a game changing approach to availability and uptime from a single solution.

The new Arcserve UDP solution delivers Assured Recovery for virtual and physical environments with a next-generation unified architecture and what it terms an unmatched ease of use. This feature-rich solution enables organisations to scale IT environments easily, while delivering against their recovery point and recovery time objectives, on-premise or in the cloud. All of this is achieved through a simple, web-based user console.

“We believe that the appointment of Tarsus Cloud On Demand within the South African region will go a long way to helping us grow our partner base,” states Rami Nasser, EMEA sales director, Growth Markets at Arcserve.

“The company has an excellent track record and a growing partner base within the cloud services market, and its strategy checks all the boxes of what we look for in a distributor. We see tremendous opportunities within the African region and look forward to further unlocking these with Cloud On Demand.

“To this end, Arcserve and Tarsus Cloud On Demand acknowledge the role that CA Southern Africa has played in the growth and development of Arcserve in South Africa. It is with this, coupled with the sales and technical expertise that CA Southern Africa offers the market, together with its footprint, the company will continue to work with Arcserve in the role of a Premier value-added reseller,” Nasser adds.
