Twitter has removed the 140-character limitation from Direct Messages.
Tweets still have to be 140 characters or less, but the private side of the popular messaging service can now be longer.
Sending and receiving Direct Messages sent via SMS will still be limited.
The change in Direct Messaging started rolling our yesterday across Android and iOS apps on twitter,com, TweetDeck and Twitter for Mac.
It will continue to roll out worldwide over the next few weeks as users update their software.
