Varsity Sports SA added more exciting features to its Varsity Sports app, which now makes it possible for users to buy discounted tickets to tournaments and gain fast access at events. App users can now also participate in competitions and give-aways and get instant rewards, freebies and coupons. The new features position the app among the most interactive sports apps available in South Africa.
“We’ve worked hard over the past couple of months to increase the functionality of our app, says Duitser Bosman, Varsity Sports CEO. “We took a risk to introduce the new-look features during our Varsity Football tournament, which started on the 20th of July. Since then we’ve seen a very positive uptake judging by the increase in app downloads and active users.
In addition to all the transactional features, the new Varsity Sports SA mobile app allows fans – dubbed ‘appletes’ – to stay up to date with their favourite teams, be on top of match fixtures, results and the latest news – all in the palm of their hands. And during the ongoing Varsity Football tournament, Varsity Sports appletes can find a host of competitions with great prizes, such as the weekly Vote & Score competition allowing appletes to vote for their Player of the Week, as well as other ongoing competitions with prizes from the sponsors.
Varsity Sports is the exclusive service provider to the University Sports Company (USC) and its participating universities forming part of the Varsity Sports series, including Varsity Athletics, Varsity 7s, Varsity Cricket, Varsity Hockey, Varsity Beach Volleyball, Varsity Netball and current tournament, Varsity Football.
The app is available for Android on Google Play and iPhone on the Apple AppStore.
