Trace Mobile, in partnership with Cell C, has launched a pre-paid mobile service in South Africa that offers an unlimited music streaming service, free Facebook (via internet.org), free WhatsApp, free news and gossip.
The service also includes the Trace Friends socialising platform, free airtime on every recharge as well as exclusive VIP and loyalty benefits at the cheapest price in the market.
In South Africa, more than 60% of the population is under 25 and there will be 32,3-million mobile Internet subscribers by 2017. The digital revolution has created a shift towards mobile devices and in how entertainment is being accessed.
Trace’s CEO Olivier Laouchez comments: “Trace is a purpose driven brand with a clear mission: to entertain, engage and empower the new generation. The launch of Trace Mobile is a giant step to further strengthen our ‘intimate’ relationship with millions of South Africans.
“With our partners Cell C, Universal Music and OnNet, we have redefined the ‘mobile’ experience to make it simpler, cheaper, more entertaining, more engaging, and more adapted to the tastes of South African youth.”
Cell C executive head of marketing Dr Doug Mattheus, adds: “Cell C’s dedication to innovation is only strengthened by our growing partnership with Trace. Providing the best value offerings to our customers remains our key commitment and we are pleased to be able to welcome Trace Mobile to our family of value added services.”
