Looking to make bigger impact in the local SME market, MICROmega subsidiary Turrito Networks has acquired a majority stake in support specialist Dial a Nerd.
Says Brian Timperley, MD of Turrito Networks: “We wanted to be the first service provider to encompass every aspect of IT for the SME customer – from managed desktop and LAN solutions through to high-speed connectivity and converged communications. This acquisition makes that all possible, and positions us as the SME partner of choice for everything IT – an end-to-end service provider that takes responsibility for it all.”

Both Colin and Aaron Thornton will remain at the helm of the Dial a Nerd business, working alongside the Turrito Networks leadership team of Brian Timperley and Louis Jardim.

“Turrito Networks has a company ethos that mirrors ours, and holds customer service as highly as we do. This combined with best fit services and solutions, meant this acquisition would ultimately benefit our collective customer base,” adds Colin Thornton, co-MD at Dial a Nerd.

The full Dial a Nerd staff complement of 65 employees will be retained as part of the acquisition and will take Turrito Networks to just over 100 employees, nationwide. The retention of the highly skilled and customer centric team at Dial a Nerd was an important element of the acquisition.

“After almost two decades of providing IT support, we’re ready to take the business to the next level, and this partnership presents some incredible synergies which will benefit our customers and provide the impetus to get there” says Aaron Thornton, co-MD at Dial a Nerd.

Over the next five years, Turrito Networks and Dial a Nerd are planning significant growth, both in terms of footprint and organisational size, as well as breadth and variety of services.

Louis Jardim, commercial director at Turrito Networks, adds: “World-class service, and a dedicated focus on the SME market, have been the hallmark of our success as individual organisations to date. This acquisition takes us to a whole new level, and we believe through our collective efforts that the sky’s the limit.”
