Huawei recently announced that its latest charging system, part of BES (Business Enablement System) has been launched in South Africa.

The company has successfully upgraded Vodacom, South Africa’s CCS phase2 data service from OCS3.3 to OCS5.5, which is a basic component of Huawei’s BES solution. This is the first commercial launch of a BES component in South Africa or even within the Sub-Saharan Africa region.

The project has successfully migrated 4-million subscribers with no negative impact to subscriber experience.

Huawei BES is the next-generation Business Support System (BSS) designed to assist telecom carriers in their transformation to digital operations. It supports various business models such as B2C, B2B, B2B2C, C2C and enables easy partner aggregation, allowing operators to build an open eco-system.
