During the 49th International Consumer Electronics Show (CES), TCL Communication’s Alcatel OneTouch was recognised twice at an awards ceremony for the 2015-2016 Global Top Brands hosted by International Data Group (IDG).
Alcatel OneTouch was among both the Global Smart Phone Top 10 and the Global Smart Connected Devices Brands Top 15. Brands such as Samsung, Apple, Huawei and Lenovo are also on both lists.
TCL Communication’s portfolio of products is currently sold in over 170 countries worldwide and it has approximately 15 000 employees in China and overseas. In the year of 2015, TCL Communication’s total sales volume of handsets and other products grew 14% year on year to 83,546-million units, with sales volume of smart devices increasing year on year by 16% to 48-million units.
“Nowadays, the achievement of Chinese smart connected devices and smartphone brands is bringing a revolution of innovation to the global market,” says Josh London, chief marketing officer of IDG Communications, at the awards ceremony. “The two lists announced today are proof of that. Technological innovation has brought disruptive changes to the mobile phone and terminal industry, pushing them to embrace the Internet more deeply. Thus, in order to attract customers, smart connected device and smartphone brands worldwide need not only technical innovation but also more innovations regarding design, user experience and interaction.”
“In the 10th year of these awards, we are gratified to be on two of IDG’s lists for the first time,” says Dan Dery, chief marketing officer and vice-president of TCL Communication. “This is an important international recognition of the success of the Alcatel OneTouch brand and the company in the global smartphone consumer market.”
