Telkom could potentially connect 1,25-million homes to its fibre network, passing this number with fibre to the curb (FTTC). Meanwhile 56 000 homes have been connected with fibre to the home (FTTH).
During the quarter ended 31 December 2015, the company grew its LTE sites by about 9% to 1 400 sites, while ADSL subscribers grew 3% to 1,018-million.
During the period, Telkom’s fixed data revenue, excluding leased line revenue, increased by 5%.
Active mobile subscribers saw positive growth of 22% to 2,565-million, with a blended ARPU of R90.26. Post-paid subscribers grew 45% while prepaid subscribers increase by 15%.
