Mustek has appointed Rev Dr Mehana as non-executive chairman of the board, with effect from 2 February 2016, Dr Mdu Gama becoming lead independent director.
Rev Dr Mehana is an ordained minister of the Methodist Church of Southern Africa who has been given permission by the church to work in the corporate world.
He started his business career in the human resource and organisational transformation arena and progressed to strategic positions including acting-CEO of a major parastatal, director on boards of various listed and unlisted companies, and chairman of a number of companies.
Rev Dr Mehana is currently the chairman of management consulting Firm LRMG Performance Agency, the chairman of Mazwe Financial Services and has recently been appointed chairman of Community Schemes Ombud Services, an entity of the Ministry/Department of Human Settlements. He also serves as a non-executive chairman of AEEI, one of Sekunjalo Investments Limited group of companies, a JSE-listed BEE company, and Makana Investment Corporation. Rev Dr Mehana is also the chairman of the Sizwe IT Group board.
Rev Dr Mehana is also the national co-prdinator of the chaplaincy in the African National Congress. He has been appointed as an adjunct professor by the University of Cape Town Graduate School of Business where he lectured on a part time basis.
Rev Dr Mehana holds a B.Th Degree from Rhodes University, an AMP from INSEAD Business School (France), Top Management Program Certificate on Public Enterprises from National University of Singapore, an MBA from De Montfort University (UK) and a D.Phil from the University of Johannesburg.
