Dimension Data and its wholly-owned subsidiary Britehouse have announced the availability of its Cloud Services for SAP platform in South Africa.
Dimension Data’s Cloud Services for SAP platform is built on a data-centre certified for SAP Hana workloads, and the standard SAP Business Suite, as well as hybrid environments. It includes cloud-based operational control, automation, and an open-standards based platform for integration services between on-premise and cloud environments.
The platform also offers flexibility around utilisation of SAP Hana, which places cost-control and commercial flexibility with the client, instead of the traditional packaged approach.
Today’s SAP organisations are required to strategically evaluate cloud options to support SAP, while at the same time understanding the impact of the shift to the SAP Hana database, and associated Hana-based applications.
Transformation of both the platform – from on-premise to public, private or hybrid cloud options – and the technology from traditional databases to Hana is why Dimension Data invested in its cloud services for SAP global platform. It embraces clients’ SAP requirements and objectives, and provides a holistic solution while leveraging the Dimension Data Managed Cloud Platform (MCP) used for Hana and high-performance workloads, a Hana-compliant infrastructure certified by SAP for hosted, private, or public cloud – single or multi-tenanted.
Scott Gibson, group executive: Dimension Data Digital Practice, says: “The South Africa platform is the first in the Dimension Data group to be built, and plans are to roll the platform out to seven countries in the next six months. All platforms are built on Dimension Data’s existing MCPs, all globally certified by SAP, which allows us to also host and manage our clients’ non-SAP applications as part of one service level agreement.”
Paolo Masselli, Britehouse CEO, adds: “Organisations now have the ability to leverage a Hana-scalable cloud solution, enabling them to pay for only what they consume. As demand and capacity requirements change, clients are able to migrate to larger or smaller T-shirt sizes. With Cloud Services for SAP, organisations can manage their current SAP workloads on a dynamic, flexible platform, while they prepare for future changes and an eventual migration to SAP Hana – all in one location, managed by one service provider.”
