The Gauteng Department of Education (GDE) has temporarily suspended its new admissions online application web site until Wednesday (13 April 2016) due to unforeseen technical challenges.

The department has issued a statement, assuring parents that is attending to the technical challenges to ensure that the site is up and running by Wednesday.

“The department appeals for patience while it is working on fixing the technical challenges and apologises for any inconveniences caused,” it states.

The new online admissions application system went live today (Monday 11 April) but almost immediately complaints from parents started flooding in when they were unable to access the site, or to log on after their initial registration.

Initially, parents were asked to register or verify their details on the new system from 11 April 2016. This now moves to 13 April. The actual application period begins on 19 April 2016 at 08H00 and will close midnight on 1 June 2016. The placement period begins on 24 June and runs until 7 September 2016, but which time all learners should be placed.
