At least one-third of US drivers want connected car features – but today’s offerings are not meeting their expectations.
This emerged from a Forrester analysis of the demand for connected cars and the features consumers are interested in having in their next vehicles.
The report predicts that a new class of inexpensive, retrofit devices will enable all players, not just automakers, to bring a new breed of transport services to market.
Other key findings of the report include:
* 31% of US adults who own or lease a vehicle are interested in Internet connectivity in their vehicle;
* 28% are interested in location-based status about contacts;
* 23% are interested in an app store for car-specific apps; and
* 31% are interested in interactive voice responses.
