One of East Africa’s leading cargo handling companies has chosen the IFS Application Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) suite as its business management solution of choice.
The cargo handling company will be implementing the IFS Finance, Maintenance and SCM modules in order to gain a competitive edge in the market.
Envecon – a trusted IT partner for ports and terminals, shipping companies, and offshore drilling operations – will oversee the implementation and provide end-to-end consulting services. The company will also integrate the IFS software with Envecon’s specialist LogStar ERP software for container shipping and logistics operations to give client a complete solution.
Implementation commenced in June 2016 and Phase 1 is expected to be completed by December 2016.
Says IFS Africa MD Gawie van der Merwe: “We look forward to helping this major East African client to drive ongoing, measurable business value from its investment in IFS Applications. The company joins more than 2,200 other industrial enterprises who leverage IFS’s products and industry sector expertise to become more adaptable, insightful and responsive.”
“Easy to implement, extend and adapt, IFS Applications respond quickly to an organisation’s changing needs,” says Rajesh Nair, CEO of Envecon. “This client, like many of its African peers in the shipping and cargo industry, is looking to move beyond cost-cutting alone, towards embracing continuous innovation. IFS Applications will support it in this journey. We’re delighted to add this project to the list of more than 40 IFS projects we have managed across Europe, Africa, Middle East, Asia and America.”
