Service provider Internet Technologies Angola (ITA) has deployed a national network using Radwin’s Point-to-MultiPoint solutions in the 2.2-2.3 GHz band.
ITA provides business-class services to many of Angola’s largest corporations.
Rolf Mendelsohn, ITA’s CEO, says: “We sought a solution in the unique 2.2-2.3 GHz band that could coexist with the high transmit power of the 3G cellular network in our capital Luanda and other cities. We evaluated several technologies including WiMAX and realized that Radwin’s carrier-grade wireless broadband was the solution for our needs.
“Radwin tailored a solution to fulfil our requirements and today we can provide high-speed connectivity of 50 Mbps and upwards with low latency and guaranteed SLAs to our valued corporate clients.”
Peter Turvey, Radwin GM: South & East Africa: “We did a bespoke development to cater to ITA’s requirements, providing a WiMax replacement in a tough radio band. Service providers around the world are turning to our JET and Radwin 5000 PtMP because these solutions deliver fiber-like connectivity and scalability at a price point that beats other technologies including fibre.
“We are proud that ITA selected to partner with RADWIN after a comprehensive evaluation of competing products and technologies, and we look forward to continuing to support their needs today and in the future.”
