Domains.co.za joins 25 000 businesses across South Africa as a SnapScan merchant able to receive cardless and cashless secure payments for domain name purchases and hosting services.
“Financial security is the number one concern in online purchasing. Clients can now securely purchase domain names and hosting services with no bank account details or credit card information ever being exchanged,” says Wayne Diamond, MD of Domains.co.za.
He confirms that Domains.co.za is the first South African Internet Service Provider (ISP) and hosting provider to enable SnapScan as a payment method.
SnapScan is a free app which can be downloaded to Android and iPhones. It enables users to pay for goods and services without needing cash, debit or credit cards. After downloading the SnapScan app on a smartphone or tablet, linked card details are securely encrypted on the device and no merchant has access to these details.
To pay using SnapScan, open the SnapScan app, tap on “Scan” and scan the SnapCode (also called a QR code) displayed at the shop or online. This identifies the merchant and prompts you to enter the amount you wish to pay. Enter your PIN to secure and complete the transaction. The merchant receives a notification confirming the payment from SnapScan.
